Join us to celebrate History Week 2026 and discover how artificial intelligence (AI) can enhance your family history research. Family history expert Andrew Redfern will demonstrate practical AI applications, including transcription, advanced searching, handwriting recognition, image restoration, and other AI-powered tools that can help you uncover, interpret, and preserve your family's history. Suitable for family historians of all experience levels. Refreshments will be provided.

Burwood and District Family History Group was founded in 1985 for people who wish to research their family history. We meet at Burwood Library on the 1st Saturday of each month at 1pm, except January and December. Membership is open to all and visitors are welcome.
Workshops are held on the 1st Saturday of the month at the library from 2 pm till 3 pm where assistance with research is available. All welcome.
Membership is $20.00 (Single) or $30.00 (Family) and is payable per calendar year and includes receiving the Ances-tree journals for the year and borrowing rights to your library of resources.

Ances-tree is the journal produced by our group and is published twice a year. Family History Groups should request written permission to reprint any articles. Acknowledgement of the source must be given. Copies of the journal are available for $AUD12.00 including postage within Australia or $AUD7.00 by email and $AUD15.00 for overseas. Orders can be placed on the Contact page.
